Arrival is highly recommended by lunch time, due to the national festivity of St. John, a night of celebration when people come together for one of the most magical and joyful popular festivals of the year.
Those arriving on Monday morning are invited to join us for a nice guided walk in town.

15.00-18.00 Icebreaking, presentation of the participants and their scientific use cases. We’ll be selecting together some of the proposed use cases for the hands-on sessions of the following days.

DAY 2 – Tuesday 24 June
Theory: Knowing and understanding Research Data Management in Geosciences
9.30- 11.00 Foundations of Data
Part 1: Understanding the data lifecycle, Part 2: (meta)data standards and formats
11.30-13.00 Open Science and FAIR Principles
Discussing challenges and benefits of Open Science; understanding challenges and benefits of FAIR; undestranding Findability, Accessbility, Interoperability, Reusability.
13.00-14.30 Lunch break
14.30-15.30 Data regulation
Memorising the key points of legislation concerning data relevant to geosciences. Understanding and using licenses for different scientific products.
Hands-on section
16.00-18.30 Geoscience data portals used by the participants
Awareness about open data portals relevant to Geoscientists.
DAY 3 - Wednesday 25 June
Theory: Knowing and understanding EPOS and its global partners
9.30- 13.00 The EPOS Research Infrastructure
Understanding the EPOS’ governance and Architecture. Introducing other global RIs for Geosciences:

Hands-on section
14.00-18.30 Using the EPOS Platform
Discovering data through the EPOS Platform or other sources. Visualising, combining and downloading data through the EPOS Platform. Using and creating Jupyter Notebooks for data analysis. Defining a workflow to manage own data in an open context.
DAY 4 – Thursday 26 June
Hands-on section
9.00-13.00 Multidisciplinary research through the EPOS Platform (part 1)
Creating a real multidisciplinary case study.
13.00-14.30 Lunch break
14.30 -18.00 Multidisciplinary research through the EPOS Platform (part 2)
Each group present its own use case and feedbacks.
DAY 5 - Friday 27 June - field trip
